Candle Care

What’s the best way to enjoy my candle?

Soy wax has a memory and should be allowed to achieve a full melt pool on its very first burn. This means the pool of liquid wax should reach the edges of the container and might take 2-4 hours. If the candle is extinguished prior to achieving a full melt pool, all subsequent melt pools will not go past the first one, which creates tunneling.

Always trim your wick after each burn and do not burn longer than four hours at a time. It's time to discard your candle when only 1/4" of wax remains on the bottom.

Should I keep the wick trimmed?

Yes! Keeping your wick trimmed to ¼” will allow the best possible scent throw from your candle and keep it from burning too quickly. It'll also reduce that unsightly soot that forms around the jar. Our signature wick trimmers work great for this! We also recommend using a long wand style candle lighter for ease of lighting as you enjoy your candle.

Why soy wax?

The benefits of soy wax include, longer burn times, that is naturally biodegradable and non-toxic, having a better and cleaner scent throw, and less soot.  We use all-natural, plant-based soy wax from American-grown soybeans. All of our candles are hand-poured in small batches and our glass jars may be reused for other purposes.

What are ways to burn my candle safely?

Always burn your candle within sight, keeping it away from flammable objects, children and pets. Never use a burning candle as a nightlight, and be sure the candle is placed on a heat resistant surface, extinguishing if the flame gets too close to the bottom or sides of the container. The National Candle Association is a great resource for safe candle practices! www.candles.org
